SYNOPSIS

PETRONAS has come a long way from managing the work of foreign production sharing contractors. We have evolved our own upstream capabilities and ventured into the entire spectrum of downstream activities to add value to our petroleum resources.

The Safety Data Sheet (SDS) portal, developed as part of our chemicals management programme, provides valuable information on hazard communication and safe handling of our products.

The PETRONAS Melaka Refinery Complex located in the state of Melaka in Malaysia houses two refining trains. The first train, known as PSR-1, is owned and operated by PETRONAS Penapisan (Melaka) Sdn Bhd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of PETRONAS. Completed in 1994, the train has a capacity to process 100,000 barrels per day of sweet crude and condensates.

The second train, PSR-2, is owned by Malaysian Refining Company Sdn Bhd, a wholly owned subsidiary of PETRONAS. Operated by PETRONAS Penapisan (Melaka) Sdn Bhd, the train commenced operations in August1999 and has a rated capacity of 170,000 barrels per day of sweet and sour crudes.
